The Black Hat

Just as one of the pictures of my previous inspiration post, wearing a cape and a big black hat.  I love wearing new modern garments but still having an air of vintage. Decades like the 20's, 30's and 40's are really inspiring to me. How about you, do you have a decade/s that makes you dream? This outfit post is really special, first one shot with my new camera! I personally love the results! What do you think, a good start?
Have a happy start of the week!

NEW TOY, finally...

Finally, we have a new toy! This is our new camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2. So, what do I mean by we or our, I mean Gaby & I. See, he is actually the one that is going to play the most with it, he is the photographer. But I'm sure I won't control myself and I will be capturing every moment of my life or every pretty surrounding, so I will have my fun as well. I can't wait to show my first outfit shot we our new baby! I'm sure that Garment Traveling will look fantastic from now on!

Pues me refiero a nosotros, Gaby y yo.

Winter Inspiration

While everyone is already obsessing about Spring, I'm still Winter-focused. Anyway, we still have two more months of Winter, I might as well live the moment, right?! These are some winter-oriented photos that I feel extremely inspired by; from vintage to modern, from classic black to sequins. The first photo makes me want to run outside and wear my gorgeous new wool cape! Are you still in the winter mood?

Saturday

Silver and Gold

Pictures taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico with views to The Atlantic Ocean. Silver pants with gold tones accessories and shirt. Recently I've been in the mood of mixing gold and silver and metallic garments. Who says you only have to wear silver with silver-like garments or gold with gold-like garments, and even more, who says you can't mix gold and silver jewelry?

PS. This boat was used for Pirates of Caribbean movie!

In love with Chanel's Makeup

Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while, this last week has been crazy, with all the traveling and trying to catch up with everyone during my last days in Puerto Rico. I got here to NY on Saturday, and I just couldn't do anything but sleep, you know, the feeling you get when you need vacations of your vacations. In addition, lovely temperatures of single digits of both positive and negative ℉ welcomed me, and of course made me stay in bed forever.
Anyways, last Thursday I made a little visit to Chanel's makeup section in Macy's, and it was fantastic! I had the experience of a complete Chanel makeup done by the lovely and incredibly talented makeup artist Luis Rodriguez. Now, those of you ladies that are in Puerto Rico, or planing to visit, this is who you should go to for a beautiful makeup. Don't take me for granted, just make a little visit to Luis and you'll see what I'm talking about, just amazing!  For more pictures and the complete makeup details click View More!

Snakeskin in San Juan

A short visit to one of my favorite places in Puerto Rico, Old San Juan. I had not visited for a while and when I walked some specific streets it brought me a lot of memories; family trips and a lot of late late nights with friends. So happy that I got to visit it!

All black "rocker" look with the snakeskin and metallic touch, I love it, how about you?

The 31st of December

A lovely New Year's Eve with my family and Gaby! I decided to look as festive as possible, and what better than sequins for a New Year's Eve look, right?! I wore an all black look with a nude blouse, and to add a touch of color my Mango green sequined bag. You can't really see the details of it, it's too shiny, but you can clearly see it here. I have to confess, I was not that sure about wearing two pieces with sequins, especially in two different colors, but I said to myself: "If there is one night of the year that I can do this, it should definitely be this one", and I really liked the result.

One big thing about starting the year is the resolutions. A couple of mine are: be bold, take risks, go to bed early, read a lot of books (not science related), post more on Garment Traveling, and most importantly ENJOY LIFE. Now, that I'm not a student anymore, going to bed early is one of my top resolutions, mainly because I'm tired of felling like a vampire and only having two or three hours of sunlight per day; yes, that's what writing a thesis does to you. Anyways, I hope you had a wonderful 31st of December and a joyful 1st of January!

Adios!

Tuesday

The Tropics

I know is January 3rd, 2012 already and I haven't posted my outfit for New Year's Eve, but I wanted to show you guys this outfit first. This was my last casual outfit of 2011, which I wore during New Year's Eve day. The 31st was so hectic, I spend the entire day visiting family and friends, I got almost none time to get ready, but I made it. These photos were shot at Gaby's backyard, which I really like, very green and bright. Again, I'm wearing a white top and a red bottom. I really don't know why I'm into this combination, but I really like it, makes the red pops out even more.

PS. The dog couldn't leave alone!
