W118 by Walter Baker - NYFW S/S 2013

Lace, cutouts, ikat prints, florals, sorbet colors, neon colors, and color blocking were among the big trends shown at Baker's collection. Definitely, a strong continuation of this Spring's hottest trends. This saturated collection made quite an eye-openning as soon as I walked in the door. It was amazing how every piece belonged where it was and how harmonized the color-gradient was even though the strong color blocking and pattern mixing elements present. It was definitely a fun presentation; models were bobbing their heads in sync with the music while everyone enjoyed the collection. I have to say, I am a huge fan of the clean-cut lines of this collection because it gives a sophisticated and clean vibe to it, and it makes the colors and the prints be the main characters in the story. I'm in love with the cutout skirt, the lace pants and the blue ombre jacket.

Adios!
