Cats for Thanksgiving

                                                                                                                          Photos by Gabriel R.

Even though Thanksgiving Day was incredibly cold I had to wear my SLEEVELESS cat dress. Isn't it the cutest?! The funny story of the day is that one of the zippers of my RED booties (the ones that I was supposed to wear) broke down right before going out, so I was so upset and in such a hurry that I decided to wear this brogues, which btw at the end of the day they saved me. It was a day of non-stop walking and lets face it, my booties would've killed my feet. What do you guys think, did I safe the look?!
In another note, this sunnies are fabulous! The most amazing thing is that they are from Target :) I only spend like $8, and they look fantastic! Sometimes we really don't have to spend that much to actually achieve GREAT FASHION! ;)

Calm before the Storm

                                                                                                                         Photos by Ariel Thuta

It has been quite a while since I have updated the blog :( School, hurricane, snow storm, etc. just an insane month. Parsons has been crazy (as always), specially now that we are getting closer to our final projects. Anyways, here I am, not stopping :) These pictures (same as the previous post) were shot right before hurricane Sandy hit New York. It was a very quiet and strange kind of day, strange enough that you could feel that something was definitely coming. The gusts of winds helped of course ;)

PS. More fun stuff coming ASAP; Canada, Thanksgiving, and more!

Sandy's Blur

                                                                                                   Photos by Ariel Thuta

Last Sunday right before Hurricane Sandy hit us we decided to take a couple of pictures to capture the big clouds and gray sky. The air felt different, you definitely felt that there was something coming. To my surprise we captured these gorgeous blurry pictures that I think represent Sandy, a Nature's Masterpiece, however a blurry angry panther that crushed us.

I wish the best to all the people who have been affected Sandy, those who have lost family member and their homes; my heart is with all of you.

Sunday

When I'm dreaming

This was the look that I chose to wear for my second day of NYFW S/S 2013. A fresh one, but with a hint of Fall. My burgundy A. Wang booties definitely add the Fall vibe to the outfit. To make the look a little more casual I decided to wear my Mango baseball-like jacket. What do you guys think?! This is my first time actually showing to you all an outfit in which I'm wearing my A. Wang booties, but in reality this shoes have been so worth it, I have wear them so many times! Definitely expect more looks with these! Now back to homework :( Happy Sunday!

that crazy night...

Yes, Vogue's Fashion Night Out this September was crazy, but I had a great time! Just take a look at the pictures, there is some hotness in the post ;)
It was very exciting to meet Kristina Bazan from Kayture, she is a total sweetheart :), and of course to see and feel the magic of fashion strolling down the streets of NY.

Friday

a while a go...

All pictures taken by Christine B.

These pictures were obviously shot a while a go, actually during August, when I still could wear shorts and sleeveless shirts. NYC is getting colder and colder as we speak, but I am happy, the sweater season has started ;) I have so many sweater outfits in mind, can't wait to show them to you guys!

My school life at Parsons is currently insane, I just finished my midterm weeks, and I am not lying when I tell you guys that I have slept like 8 hours through out the entire week. I am so sleep-deprived. It has killed me that I haven't been able to update the blog, I even still need to show you more about NY Fashion Week. But I am here, surviving, and I have lots of great pictures and post for this week!

A bit of New York Fashion Week StreetStyle

                                                                                                                           All pictures taken by me.

Between all the shows I managed to capture a bit of the atmosphere and streetstyle outside of Lincoln Center, where most of the magic happens. It is an unbelievable feeling; you are in this place full of incredible people, photographers all around, and everywhere you look you see an amazing outfit. But the most amazing feeling is when those photographers focus their camera on you, and even beyond that, when they ask you "what are you wearing?", surreal! I am very happy that I captured a bit of everything; color blocking, all white, all black, mirror sunnies, and florals. What do you guys think of these outfits?!

Rebecca Minkoff - NYFW S/S 2013

A collection inspired by the 60s and 70s iconic photography of Slim Aarons that brought us a more modern hippie version of the cool jet-setter women from those times. Definitely a fun and vivd collection full of faded florals prints, mixed prints, boot-cut legs, motorcycle vests, overalls, and an uber cool attitude. My favorite piece, the biker faded vest (look #3); I could wear this garment with absolutely anything. The shoes were simple yet chic sandals (loved the green strappy one) and the bags, well lets just say very much Rebecca, amazing!

Outfit Day 1 - NYFW S/S 2013

                                                                                                                              Photos by Christine B.

What a day! For my first day at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 I decided to wear a muted white~ish palette of colors in which I combined different tones of white, muted silver Jil Sander heels, nude Zara bag, and a light denim shirt. To my surprise the day ended being kind of hot, thus I melted a couple of times. However, even though the outfit was too hot for the day, it still gave a fresh and soft summer vibe, so I was happy :) Now that the summer is officially over I am going to start wearing this coat with darker fall like colors and thicker fabrics, can't wait for the resulting looks!

W118 by Walter Baker - NYFW S/S 2013

Lace, cutouts, ikat prints, florals, sorbet colors, neon colors, and color blocking were among the big trends shown at Baker's collection. Definitely, a strong continuation of this Spring's hottest trends. This saturated collection made quite an eye-openning as soon as I walked in the door. It was amazing how every piece belonged where it was and how harmonized the color-gradient was even though the strong color blocking and pattern mixing elements present. It was definitely a fun presentation; models were bobbing their heads in sync with the music while everyone enjoyed the collection. I have to say, I am a huge fan of the clean-cut lines of this collection because it gives a sophisticated and clean vibe to it, and it makes the colors and the prints be the main characters in the story. I'm in love with the cutout skirt, the lace pants and the blue ombre jacket.

NYFW has Started

Yes! NY Fashion Week has started! Last night I had an amazing time at Fashion's Night Out! I visited many different stores, and I even got to do a little purchase ;) This is the look that I decided to wear for this night, very simple, just black denim and a shirt, but with amazing details; wallpaper print, velvet, and studs. Today I don't have any classes, so I'll be happy and excited at the Lincoln Center!

Those Phillip Lim Boots & that Bag

As the Fall approaches the golds, the burgundies and the greens make an appearance in all of our most desired collections. These Phillip Lim accessories for the Fall/Winter collection are absolutely perfection. The leather, the gold, and the black details make the perfect combination for one the most amazing and eye-catching accessories of the season. We are definitely going to see a lot of these running around the streets. The "mini" reinvention of the Pashli Satchel is just a brilliant move from Phillip Lim. We couldn't never had enough of the regular size one, I just can imagine the obsession with this cute mini one.

Pretty Little Spikes

Even though spikes can get very hardcore or give you a strong rough vibe on your clothes and shoes, this pair manages to keep it feminine and sophisticated. From a distance, they look like they are covered by jewels, not bad right?! Studs & Spikes keep getting stronger and stronger. About 95% of the items in every store that I visit have at least a couple of studs or spikes on them, sometimes shown in a subtle way, sometimes as the staple of the piece. Currently I'm finding myself avoiding them because I have too many pieces with them, and believe me is getting quite hard to do it. But these! These are just magical, my feet look like moving jewels!
